Seven Summits Challenge

One of the things I love about Park City is that there is always something going on and always something to do.

A few weeks ago a good client friend asked me if I was doing the Seven Summit Challenge at Park City Mountain and Canyons.

I had never heard of it before so he informed me it was the first annual challenge put on by the resort.

Since Park City and The Canyons merged back in 2015 it has been a huge attraction of over 300 runs and spanning 7,300 acres and has been a fun adventure to try to ride every lift in one day.

This year the resort created the challenge of getting to the top of seven of the peaks that span the entire resort. And guess what.. I did it!

We started at 9am at the Crescent Lift on the Park City side heading up to Jupiter Peak and ended all the way over at Murdock Peak at the Canyons around 3pm.

We were able to use the lifts for a majority of it but had to hike up to the top of most of the peaks.

The last haul up Murdock was brutal with an almost vertical finish but I did it! My friend and I literally crawled the last pitch of it on hands and knees.

As we reached the top of every peak we were passed off by staff.

At the end of the day we were greeted at the Red Pine Lodge at Canyons with burgers, drinks, and prizes.

Not only was this a fun and challenging experience I got to do with friends, it was also for a great cause.

A portion of every registration went to a non-profit organization that helps at-risk youth engage in adventure sports.

It was such a fun event and a great way to explore one of Utah’s amazing resorts and a truly unique side of Park City. I can’t wait to do it again next year!
